For example in Larnaca you will find the oldest privately owned museum in Cyprus, set up by Demetrios Pierides which museum2.jpghouses ancient, Medieval, Byzantine and more recent objects. In Nicosia the Centre of Cultural Heritage has an atelier for icon conservation and other works of art as well as for modern Byzantine icons. The Nicosia Municipal Art Centre promotes contemporary creations by organizing important thematic, retrospective exhibitions. Also in the old city there are Art Galleries with antique and modern prints, paintings icons mosaics and handicrafts, exposed under the theme “Cyprus yesterday and today”.In Paphos, the Cultural Paphian Center organizes art exhibitions, lectures and tours on the Cyprus heritage as well as the Wild Flowers Festival. In Limassol, the Friends of Dance Association organize international dance workshops and performances.
